PEGS Middle Girls

with McBride Charles Ryan

The Middle Girls School Campus brief required the refurbishment of four existing dwellings and the construction of two new buildings, which as a whole serve to create and frame intimate courtyard spaces.

I began working on this project at the beginning of the Contract Documentation phase. As a core member in a small team of five, I contributed significantly to the documentation of the school, primarily the internal components, joinery, and detailing. Once the contractor was appointed, the team reduced to two, and my role was since to assist the project architect throughout the Contract Administration phase. This involved direct communication with the client and contractor, along with specialist consultants, suppliers, and manufacturers. I attended site inspections and meetings regularly, prepared and assisted in over one thousand site instructions, responded promptly to requests for information, corrected shop drawings, accessed regulatory content, applied for relevant permits, and assisted in maintaining a record of variation price requests and contract variation orders.
