Integrated Cultural Campus Masterplan

with McBride Charles Ryan

The Integrated Cultural Campus Masterplan is a future vision for Adelaide’s cultural district. Working in collaboration with GHD Architecture and TCL Landscape Architects we produced a scheme that established an agenda and considered the future needs of the Art Gallery of South Australia, the South Australian Museum, the State Library of South Australia, History SA and Artlab.

The Masterplan explores improvements in integrating and connecting the city’s cultural boulevard along North Terrace with the neighbouring Riverbank precinct, the retail spine of Rundle Mall and the meandering River Torrens.

I was brought onto this project during schematic design and my role was to assist the project architect in the production of design options and documentation. This involved digitally modelling explorations in form and drafting, primarily in plan. I also assisted in co-ordinating the work of other consultants, preparing presentations, regularly attending meetings and workshops both in Adelaide and in Melbourne, and at the culmination of the project, working with a colleague to produce a two metre long scale model.
